Can I receive the payout if I link PayNow to my mobile number?

No. Payout can only be made via PayNow-NRIC/FIN. This is to ensure that the payout is made to the intended recipient even if you change your mobile number. 

How do I check that I have PayNow-NRIC/FIN? How do I register for PayNow-NRIC/FIN?

  • Login > Tap on PayNow > Tap on YOUR PROFILE >
  • Under YOUR PROFILE you will be able to see the NRIC/FIN number linked to your PayNow profile

Digibank Online

  • Login > Click on Transfer > Click on Transfer with PayNow >
  • Under My Registrations you will be able to see the NRIC/FIN number linked to your PayNow profile

Who will be affected by this new initiative?

Only customers who have been receiving regular payout arrangements(*)  via Direct Credit will not be affected. 

Examples of customers who will receive future payments via PayNow-NRIC/FIN:

  • Customers who have received a one-time payment from us via Direct Credit before (e.g. loan, personal accident claims, health claims, etc), but have already registered for PayNow-NRIC/FIN
  • Customers who have or are currently receiving payouts via cheques and have registered for PayNow-NRIC/FIN

 

Will I be notified if the SGD payout via PayNow-NRIC/FIN is unsuccessful? Will I know if payment is being held due to absence of PayNow-NRIC/FIN?

If SGD payout via PayNow-NRIC/FIN is unsuccessful, we will attempt to make a bank transfer via direct credit. If we do not have your bank account details on file, we will send an SMS, letter and/or email informing you that a payment from Singlife to you, is being held by us. Full instructions will be provided to either register for PayNow-NRIC/FIN or sign up for direct credit.

What are the transactions eligible for PayNow-NRIC/FIN?

All payouts to individual Life and Health policies will be automatically paid via PayNow-NRIC/FIN if the criterias are met (refer to question 2 above)

General Insurance claims e.g. travel, personal accident, home, loss of use etc. are also paid via PayNow.

Why is Singlife moving to PayNow-NRIC/FIN for payouts?

PayNow is a secure funds transfer service that allows you to receive payments conveniently. Linking your NRIC/FIN to PayNow allows faster payouts and you do not need to register again even if you change your mobile number. 

I have PayNow-NRIC/FIN. Why did I receive my payout via Direct Credit?

You may continue to receive your payout via Direct Credit because of the following:

  • Payout is made in a non-SGD currency
  • Multiple payees are tied to the policy
  • Have existing regular payout arrangements(*)  via Direct Credit payments
  • Your PayNow profile is not linked to your NRIC/FIN

Is there any fee for PayNow-NRIC/FIN?

No, there isn’t. 

How do I receive payouts via PayNow-NRIC/FIN?

Payouts will be executed automatically via PayNow-NRIC/FIN if the following are met:

  • Customers whose Singapore NRIC/FIN is recorded with us
  • Policy payout is in Singapore Dollars
  • Payout is to a single payee
  • Customers who do not have a regular payout arrangements(*)  via Direct Credit (GIRO) with Singlife

Please link your NRIC/FIN to PayNow via your preferred bank.

Please note that you must have registered for PayNow-NRIC/FIN before you can receive the payout.

Is PayNow applicable for corporate clients via UEN?

No. This service is currently only available for non-corporate clients. 

What if I do not have/I’m unable to have PayNow-NRIC/FIN?

Singlife will send a letter and/or email informing you that a payment is being held by us. Please send us a copy of your bank passbook/statement showing the account holder’s full name and bank account number on the same page. All other information can be blanked out.

Singlife will progressively stop sending payouts via cheque. Can I still pay my policy premiums via cheque?

Singapore is moving towards a cheque-less future, as part of its vision to become a digital-first nation. At Singlife, we believe this change benefits our customers so we will no longer accept cheque payments. Please refer to this page for other payment methods.

Can SGD payouts for two payees be done via PayNow-NRIC/FIN? How are payouts paid to joint owners/multiple trustees?

We cannot process PayNow-NRIC/FIN to two payees/joint payees. Please authorise the payment to one of the payees.

I’m a foreigner. Can SGD payouts be paid to me via PayNow-NRIC/FIN?

Yes, as long as you have a Singapore bank account linked to your PayNow-NRIC/FIN, we can send payouts to you via PayNow-NRIC/FIN. If not, we’ll send payouts to your Singapore bank account via Direct Credit. If you no longer have a Singapore bank account, we’ll send payouts to you via telegraphic transfer. Please note that any applicable charges for telegraphic transfers may be payable by you.
